Job Purpose

This role can be home-based with regular travel required.

There is also an opportunity to work on-site or hybrid from our hubs located across the country in Edinburgh, Edgmond (Newport), York, and Cranfield.

This role will be key to ensuring the EPIC Farm Network is successful through ensuring Farm Technical Trials, including constructing, maintaining and operating technical equipment; perform field-based tests/trials; and be able to use a wide range of field-based (mobile) technical equipment machinery to perform tests.

In addition to this, the role will include Farm Activity Management including co-ordinate on-farm project activity; and attend project meetings, farm visits and events around the UK and potentially abroad in addition to supporting the wider Technical and ATC Team.

Main Duties

· Construct, maintain and operate technical equipment

· Perform field-based tests/trials in order to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific investigations

· Use a wide range of field-based (mobile) technical equipment machinery to perform tests

· Use computer programs to compile and access data sets and distribute them as appropriate

· Engage with new and existing ATC members to support the development of project protocol in relation to agricultural projects

· Demonstrate farm technology and support training workshops

· Co-ordinate on-farm project activity

· Attend project meetings, farm visits and events around the UK and potentially abroad

· Organise procurement and shipment for on-farm technology

· Represent farmers in project consortiums

· Liaise between farmers and technical team

· Co-ordinate farm events

· Work across the organisation to assist in arranging and hosting on-farm knowledge exchange events

· Work with other staff to develop content for dissemination to farmers across our networks and wider

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

· Degree in relevant subject e.g.

agriculture, engineering etc.

· Strong organisational skills

· Accuracy and attention to detail

· Good interpersonal skills

· Numeracy skills

· IT skills including MS Office

· Experience in using farm technology

· Experience of Agri-Tech/Agricultural engineering

· Customer service skills

· Experience of project management

· Understanding of the Agri-Tech Ecosystem

Additional Information

Regular travel may be required.
