Join Our Team as a Mobile Vehicle Technician
Welcome to a new era of mobile repair with our Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Division!
About the Role
The organization is known for roadside rescue, but this role is different.
Our SMR division focuses on delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to our members, whether at their driveway or workplace.
Say goodbye to emergency callouts and unpredictable shifts.
Instead, you’ll work through a scheduled list of jobs, equipped with the time, tools, and support to perform quality work.
What to Expect
Your day will start with a clear digital schedule, with each job pre-booked and the member expecting you.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs typically completed in a workshop.
• Providing member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Conducting vehicle safety checks aligned with our standards.
With a fully equipped van, fuel card, uniform, and advanced diagnostics at your disposal, you’ll use your technical skills to ensure our members are back on the road safely and confidently.
Why Our SMR Division Stands Out
• Planned appointments instead of emergency responses.
• Consistent workflow without unpredictable demands.
• In-depth repairs rather than temporary roadside fixes.
• Time to do the job properly, with built-in support and parts ordering.
• Clear schedules using our mobile service platform.
This role is perfect for technicians seeking variety and independence without the reactive nature of traditional patrol work.
What You’ll Need
• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
Benefits That Go the Extra Mile
• Earnings That Motivate: Competitive base salary of £40,178, with potential earnings up to £52,000 through bonuses and overtime.
• Opt-in Guaranteed Overtime: After your first month, choose to work extra days at £30 per hour, allowing for significant additional earnings.
• Tools to Drive Your Future: Start with a free breakdown service and access to a car salary sacrifice scheme after 12 months.
• Time Off That Matters: Enjoy 23 days of holiday (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays, with support for work-life balance.
• Financial Security & Perks: Pension scheme with up to 6.5% matched contributions and life assurance cover.
• Wellbeing That Works for You: Access to a 24/7 confidential support service for you and your household.
• Extras That Make a Difference: Exclusive discounts through our savings portal and a stake in our success through the Colleague Share Scheme.
Who Thrives Here?
You’re not just skilled with tools; you excel in customer interactions.
As a Mobile Mechanic, you’ll be the face of our organization, working directly with members and providing high-quality service.
You enjoy independence, problem-solving, and variety in your work.
This Role is Ideal If You Want:
• Independence in a mobile role.
• The stability and support of a trusted national organization.
• Ongoing development, including future EV and diagnostic skills.
• A role where providing peace of mind to members is part of your job.
