The Role
• Working with Older Adults with Dementia: As a Clinical Psychologist at Band 8a, you will work with older people with both dementia and complex mental health conditions in an inpatient setting.
• Developing Psychological Therapies Service: You will continue the implementation of a psychological therapies service to OPMH patients on the organic inpatient unit (Elmwood Ward) and provide psychological input to the mental health inpatient unit (Beechwood Ward).
• Leading Multidisciplinary Team: You will lead an experienced older person's psychological therapies team consisting of Clinical Psychologists, Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Clinical Associate Psychologists, and Trainee Clinical Associate Psychologists.
About the Position
• You will work across both the Older People's Mental Health (OPMH) organic inpatient service, Elmwood Ward (0.5wte), and the functional mental health inpatient service, Beechwood Ward (0.5wte), at Parklands Hospital.
• You will have real enthusiasm to work with older people with both dementia and complex mental health conditions in an inpatient setting.
Person Specification
• DClinPsy or DCounsPsy including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics, and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies, and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS.
• HCPC Registration.
• Pre-qualification training and qualifications in research methodology, staff training, and/or other fields of applied psychology.
Salary: £53,775 to £60,504 a year based on full-time hours
